Logo Design

Description

Create a logo design that represents myself. My last name Bae, has several meanings in Korean, one being the fruit 🍐pear🍐. I decided to incorpate the alphabets b,a,e, into a shape of a pear that speaks a playful and cheerful language.

Design Process

I began sketching with the letters B, a, e in a circular shapes in order to give a more friendly and approachable feeling. From there I was inspired to create the pear shape with the capital letter B and the lowercase letter e for the leaf on top. The lowercase letter a overlaps with the B's loop. The e on the top as a leaf was too obvious that it was the alphabet letter rather than a leaf. I think it being mirrored looks more subtle and harmonious with the general idea of the fruit. I also incorporated color to give more life to the skeletal logo as well as my name on the bottom.

Reflection

Overall I'm satisfied with how it has a playful and friendly spirit. I think I appreciate how the letters are subtle so doesn't shout out the alphabet blatantly. I could imagine it used on digital platforms on the first page as well as a welcoming storefront sign because of its general approachness of the logo.
